SIRP holds 3rd Biannual Review meeting

SIRP held its third biannual review meeting in Mutare from 25 to 27 February 2020. The workshop was attended by both provincial and headquarter representatives from AGRITEX, DOI, Economics and markets, Mechanization, PCU and Technical Assistance. The programme of the review meeting included a field visit to Musikavanhu irrigation scheme in Chipinge, 2 days of presentations and interactive sessions The workshop objectives were:

  • To report on progress in program implementation;
  • To share experiences;
  • To come up with implementation strategies
  • Develop, discuss and value add provincial plans; and
  • Measure progress in programme implementation.

The Chief Director said “:It was good that there was physical progress on the ground. However, the programme must produce the right products and of good quality”

It was agreed that in 2020 the aim is to move SIRP to a higher level to do this the programme should focus on:

  • partnership building,
  • commercialization,
  • building community of practice
  • evidence based programming.
