The IFAD President, Mr Gilbert F. Houngbo will be visiting the country during the first week of December 2018. In his visit to Zimbabwe, Mr Houngbo will meet with government officials including the Minister of Lands, Agriculture, Water, Climate and Rural Resettlement, Minister of Finance and Economic Development and the Governor of the Reserve Bank.
Mr Gilbert F. Houngbo is the sixth President of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). This will be Mr Houngbo’s first official visit to Zimbabwe.
Gilbert F. Houngbo who is a national of Togo has been the Prime Minister of Togo from 2008 to 2012. After leaving office as Prime Minister, Houngbo became Deputy Director-General for Field Operations and Partnership at the International Labour Office in 2013. He has been President of the International Fund for Agricultural Development since 2017.
