World Wetlands Day 02 February 2022

Every year on the 2nd of February 2022, the Small Holder Irrigation Revitalisation Programme (SIRP) joins the world in marking the World Wetlands Day to raise awareness on wetlands. Wetlands are critically important ecosystems that contribute to biodiversity, climate mitigation and adaptation, freshwater availability and contributing to the world economy.

This year’s event is set to run under the theme “Value, manage, restore, love wetlands”
