Frank Takudzwa Njova, aged 25 years and Joseph Whenira, aged 20 years, live in Romsley ward 31 in Makoni District of Manicaland. The two youths received vocational training in bricklaying at Mlezu Vocational Training Centre.
After the two received training, they were employed by a local businessman to build a shop at Nzvimbe Business Centre while Nzvimbe Primary School employed them to build a cottage. When they were awarded the contract, the two created further employment for two other youths whom they recruited as building assistants. Overall, they managed to raise 700usd each. They used the money to purchase food items which improved their nutrition security. The pair is positive that they will continue to get more contracts within their community.
