The Banga Irrigation Scheme in Chivi District of Masvingo was commissioned by the Minister of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries and Water, Dr Anxious Jongwe Masuka on the 9th of April 2022. The 62 hectare irrigation scheme was revitalised by the Smallholder Irrigation Revitalisation Programme at a cost of US$625 396 and has 161 beneficiaries.

The scope of works at the scheme included replacement of a dam valve, laying of a 2.4km pipeline from the dam to the fields, replacement of the in-field canal system with a more efficient one and erection of a 4.5km perimeter fence.
